A calorie is not a calorie they aren’t created equally

The main reason a calorie is not a calorie, is simple.  Consider the quality of fuel that goes in a vehicle, some use diesel, to drive and some don’t. Would putting diesel in a car hinder its performance yes, the same as choosing lower quality calories could hinder your performance.

A calorie is not a calorie

Protein Protein can build muscles, and is beneficial in any weight loss regimen, because it helps maintain lean muscle during the weight loss process. Protein is needed during childhood, and pregnancy because during these times, the body is adding more tissue and cells. Prioritize, lean cuts of protein, like eggs, or salmon. Low quality read meats, can cause insulin resistance, and metabolic disease. All protein and carbs, contain 4 calories per gram you want to prioritize the most quality forms of both.

Carbs Carbs are used by the body as an immediate source of energy. The brain muscles and liver, are the primary benefactors. The quality of carbs matters just as with protein and fats. in terms of carbs we can think of them as fiber sugar and starches. Fiber a source of calories because it is not digested by the body. However fiber can make you full for a longer period of time, because it slows digestion. Starchy foods, like pasta and bread, are made up of glucose mostly and used by all cells of our bodies.  Glucose is esly stored in our muscles and liver for quick energy. Fructose attached beverages and sweeteners are most people downfalls in most cases. However, fructose found in nature are perfectly fine, because they are binded to fiber as well, which reduces absorption. A calorie is not a calorie, calories for glucose can be used by the whole body. Calories from fructose, can only be broken down by the liver, and overwhelm it, it large quantities. And contribute to such issues like fatty liver disease and insulin resistance. The best source of carbs comes from unprocessed foods and minimally processed foods.

Fats Fat is the only marco, that is more than 4 calories, unlike carbs and macros. Fat is 9 calories. Artificial and trans fats are linked to heart disease, and inflammation.  And should be avoided. Omega fats, like the ones found in salmon have anti-inflammatory agents. In addition to usually being what makes a meal flavorful, fats can deliver important nutrients and vitamins to our cells. Also fat is an important building block for every cell.
