Should I create a YouTube channel

The short answer is yes you should create a YouTube channel, will it be popular probably not. Let me explain... It can take up to 3 years of consistent posting to see a massive uptick in meaningful traffic on your YouTube channel. All the reasons people have primarily chose other social media platforms over YouTube, are no longer relevant.  What I mean by this, is that you used to solely tweet text, and only post pics on twitter and Instagram respectively. Even with Facebook, video was not a primary reason people used these platforms. Over the years each platform has adopted useful features from one and other. Which lead to greater production quality being needed to stand out.

Now YouTube enters the fray YouTube has historically all ways required more editing, more posting, a willingness to post frequently to stay favorable in the algorithm and a list of other things. However, one of the main reasons YouTube will always be around, is that they were the first to pay users, and publicize it.  Outside of that they were the framework for what we know as social media influencers.

Why is YouTube worthwhile People search things on YouTube, it is the go to search engine for pretty much everyone. Although tiktok is catching up and other websites are trying to do something similar. YouTube serves as a time capsule, and video equivalent to google. While many debate about YouTube and rather or not its a Social Media site, the answer is simple it is. People can chat with each other in comments, search music, how to videos, and other forms of entertainment without having to leave the site. Since this is not going to change anytime soon, it makes sense to maintain a foot print here. Unlike other platforms, where your content gets lost in the stream, you have a better chance here to garner more meaningful likes and follows.
