Why I Don’t Explain Every Detail: TikTok Science vs. Real Training

Written by Xavier Savage | DXTheTrainer

Some clients come to train. Others come to teach themselves what they think they know.

I see it all the time. Midway through a session, a client drops a term they heard on Instagram:

  • "My glute medius isn’t activating."

  • "Is this optimal for posterior chain hypertrophy?"

  • "I read this disrupts my circadian rhythm."

Let’s be clear. That language isn’t coming from deep study. It’s coming from a 15-second reel.

Most Clients Want the Fruit, Not the Roots

You hired me to deliver results, not a textbook. You didn’t sign up for a college-level course in biomechanics. You signed up to get stronger, leaner, more confident, and in control of your body.

And I give you that.

What I don’t always do is pause the session to explain every scientific reason behind every movement.

Because I know:

  • You’re here to move, not memorize.

  • You want function, not footnotes.

  • You care about outcomes, not academic language.

But don’t get it twisted.Every rep I program is grounded in real science:

  • Progressive overload built into your training blocks.

  • Prehab and rehab principles baked into your warmups and cooldowns.

  • DX Body Type protocols that match your structure, not just your goals — Rectangle (ectomorph), Hourglass (mesomorph), or Diamond (endomorph), with sub weight classes built in for precise adjustment and progression.

  • Corrective strategies that address imbalances before they become injuries.

None of that is random. And none of it came from TikTok.

Social Media Isn’t a Coach

Most fitness influencers recycle information they don’t fully understand. They confuse:

  • Activation with compensation.

  • Anabolic response with calorie surplus.

  • Spot reduction with muscle isolation.

They talk fast. They look good. But they rarely know how to coach real people in the real world with real challenges.

And when you follow that advice, here’s what usually happens:

  • You plateau faster.

  • You get injured sooner.

  • You lose sight of the actual mission.

Most of these influencers aren’t even trainers. They look the part online — but behind the scenes they’re getting coached by real professionals. They slap a brand name on some affiliate link or program, and pitch it like it’s their method. But their only credentials are steroids and plastic surgery — both men and women.

I Don’t Count to Ten for You

I’m not here to babysit your reps. I’m not counting to ten like it’s kindergarten. You know what set you’re on. You know what you came to do.

If I’m spending every session being a rep clock instead of building your performance, we’re wasting time. My job is to coach you, not coddle you. That’s why I don’t over-coach or over-correct.

I’m not a kindergarten teacher. My job isn’t to stop every five seconds and micromanage your form like you’ve never touched a dumbbell. Doing that all day would be mind-numbing and stupid.

I coach with intent, not noise.

If it’s unsafe, I correct it. If it’s inefficient, I adjust it. But I’m not here to babysit your every rep. I expect you to meet the standard. Not beg for constant attention.

Choosing performance over novelty will take you further. Sticking to what works beats chasing every shiny object on TikTok or ChatGPT. The grass isn’t greener — your cognitive bias just makes you think it is.

What You’re Actually Getting with X

When you work with me, you get:

  • A tailored plan that respects your DX Body Type — Rectangle (ectomorph), Hourglass (mesomorph), or Diamond (endomorph).

  • Programs designed with correct exercise selection, not just popular movements.

  • Built-in progression, recovery, and variability that keeps results moving.

  • A coach who filters the fluff and keeps you focused.

You don’t need gimmicks. You need a system. One that respects:

  • Your structure.

  • Your psychology. Coming in trying to act like you're more self-oriented or disciplined than you actually are, without a willingness to examine how you can improve, is only going to hinder you.

  • Your biology.

  • Your actual goals.

Not what’s trending this week.

When You Hear Something Online...

Ask yourself:

  • Does this influencer train clients or just post content?

  • Can they explain the concept, or just repeat it with charisma?

  • Are they showing performance or just performing?

Because this is your body. Not a brand. Not an experiment. Not an algorithm.

At DXTheTrainer, we don’t chase trends. We build results.

If you want education, I’ll teach you. If you want results, I’ll show you. Either way, I’ll never let you confuse entertainment for evolution.

You hired a strategist. Trust the system.
