Fact or fiction workouts have to long
A brief workout of 5 exercises or less for example if paired with a proper diet will yield wonderful results. If it is done at least 2 to 3 non consecutive days to allow yourself to recover.
When done properly in this case I mean weight training or resistance training.
Not aerobic based training such as zumba, dance or spin. Those have their places, but not in todays topic or conversation.
Weight training and resistance based training is the only type of training, with immense amounts of real scientific literature validating its results.
If you are looking to tone up or maintain a toned physique or muscles mass, while cutting fat. Your workouts don’t have to be long.
The reason most people assume workouts have to be long, is because they pair the wrong muscle groups together.
Or because they use pointless machines, and try to accomplish too much in a short amount of time.
Going into the gym without a plan is like saying that you are going to drive some place you’ve never been. Either you’ll get lucky the first time, lucky eventually or more than likely you will end up no where fast, and far worse of than when you began.
How to pair muscle groups
Stop only working signature muscle groups and using signature machines.
For example someone may come into the gym and hop on the stationary bike for 20 mins, work arms and maybe abs.
Where a much better example would be to stop working your show muscles. Show muscles are the ones we work of cosmetic purposes, and train effectively.
An example would be back and chest paired together, or legs and shoulders paired together. These are big muscle groups that will burn up calories and yield a much more pleasing physique.
Inadequate recovery and nutrition can compromise training results.
With my clients in as little as 20-30 minutes we can create great and long lasting change.
However some people for various reasons may need to train for an hour or more, so I accommodate those clients as well.
The reasons for a long workout could be an aggressive goal such as a fast approaching wedding or event.
Or they could be more equipped to handle endurance and duration based training like an athlete or former athlete.
